Imagine how different life would be today, if automobiles were never invented. On the bright side, we would all be fit as a fiddle, as we would have no choice but to walk everywhere. I’d imagine, though, that the lack of cars would’ve hindered or prevented many of the technological advancements that are such a big part of our lives. Furthermore, we’d have no chance at exploring the land of the planet on which we live. I’d rather drive ten miles to pick up a gallon of milk and some chocolate chip cookies than walk that same distance. Driving there would take roughly ten minutes, while walking would consume hours of my time. So, as I sit her on my porch staring deeply at my 2002 Dodge Ram side mirrors, I’m taken back at how far human-kind has come in the history of our existence. In this era we are capable of driving and flying at speeds that we would’ve never thought possible a hundred years ago, and for that I’m thankful.
